The Cloud E5™ Framework

Cloud E5™ is a progressive framework for metadata-driven cloud governance. It helps organizations mature their approach to visibility, automation, compliance, and evolution — all through structured tagging.

The framework is composed of five phases, called the 5 Es:

• E1 – Envision: Establish purpose, alignment, and visibility of your cloud environment.
• E2 – Evaluate: Identify gaps, ownership issues, and inconsistencies in metadata.
• E3 – Enable: Implement standards, tooling, and training to operationalize metadata.
• E4 – Enforce: Apply guardrails and policy-as-code to ensure compliance.
• E5 – Evolve: Create a feedback loop to improve and adapt your governance over time.

Each phase builds upon the previous, forming a continuous improvement loop aligned to your cloud maturity journey.
